SIM FAMILY IN KENYA

Within SIM Kenya, there are approximately twenty family units which are assigned to placements as diverse as their original home countries. Our united family brings representation from Ethiopia, Germany, Korea, Switzerland, Taiwan, the UK, and the US. Some of these families live immediately within Nairobi, and the rest are scattered across the Kenyan countryside. Ministry involvements cover a vast range including administration, M.evangelism, Vacation Bible School, HIV/AIDS, orphanages, youth, urban ministries and church planting.

Currently, SIM Sudan is also headquartered in Nairobi as well. A few SIM Sudan missionary families live in Nairobi or the surrounding area, while others spend the majority of their time in Sudan. These families still come to Nairobi for a short break every couple of months for renewal and fellowship. The Sudan Field team has folks from Ethiopia, India, Nigeria, Taiwan, the UK, and the US.

In addition, we have an ever-changing team of short-term missionaries. We have had SIMPacters from Austria, Canada, China, Germany, Italy, Korea, New Zealand, Scotland, South Africa, Switzerland, the UK, and the US. They have been involved in informal schools in the slums of Nairobi; formal nursery, primary and secondary schools throughout the country; youth ministries; HIV/AIDS; medical; M.ministries; women's ministries; administration; and Sunday school ministries. Placements have ranged from the core of Nairobi to other urban centers throughout the country as well as into the remote interior villages.
