ORIENTATION

Your adventures in Kenya will start with your arrival at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport in Nairobi. Foreign languages, the potential of lost luggage and praying that your ride is waiting are but a few of the things that await you. But all is not lost; typically Daniel will be the one to meet you at the airport holding an SIM sign, and will be able to introduce you to the city and country on the short (traffic permitting) drive to Rose Avenue, SIM's residential compound. Over the next few days you will meet with Dorothy as she guides you through an orientation book step by step. This book covers many topics that should prove helpful during your stay in Kenya. You will also meet with the other SIMers who always make a significant contribution to the information you have already received. Within the first few days, you will be escorted to our headquarters by a Kenyan staff person working with SIM, and will be able to learn more about the ministries and operations of SIM Kenya and SIM Sudan. If you arrive at the beginning of the week, you will most likely be orientated and involved in your ministry by the end of the week.
