MEDIA MINISTRIES
In this modern era, a missionary is no longer expected to be a doctor, nurse, or preacher. There are opportunities to use a variety of what one would call secular careers to serve God in full time ministry. One aspect of this need is in the creative arts and media. As technology advances, so does the need for communication. There are many aspects to media, and the positions could be tailored to fit the gifts and abilities of those coming to serve.
Photojournalism
-photographing the ministries for the purpose of prayer, financial support, and recruitment
-writing articles for SIM publications to communicate what God is doing
-specialized projects for individual missionaries
-cataloguing photos
Videography
-country videos
-short video clips for the website
-videos for individual missionary support raising
Computers and servers
-upkeeping the network on the compound
-maintaining and updating the simkenya website
-teaching missionaries and Kenyan staff to use programs such as word, excel, and power point
-setting up user profiles
Graphic designers
-design and paint a mural on the outer walls of the SIM headquarters to depict SIM’s vision and strategy for ministry in Kenya
-design pamphlets for individual ministries |
